Lights on…lights off

March 28th, 2009

SF Bath, originally uploaded by ThreeWide.

Bathrooms in general are difficult to photograph because of limited space and mirrors. Finding a location for strobes that do not reflect in mirrors is sometimes the hardest thing. Most of the images from this angle were done with the vanity lights on. So at the end I took just one with the lights off as a test. Little did I know that it would eventually be the best image of the shoot, and it is slowly becoming one of my personal favorites.

Baths

One of my new favorites

December 22nd, 2008

This image was recently taken at one of our projects from 2007. My original shoot in 2007 was a bit premature, as the details of the bathroom were not all complete. Nor were my skills for that matter. Since then, I have learned how to balance ambient light from windows and strobes within the room. This detail shot is not yet on the website.
